When it comes to document management systems, the uptake amongst some of the biggest couples in the world has been high and this includes the company behind the National Lottery, Camelot.
According to a report on Manufacturing Talk, the organisation charged with ensuring the National Lottery runs smoothly are one of the most recent companies to implement a document management system to ensure the smooth and streamlined running of their business environment. Camelot employ over 900 staff and they oversee the sale of lottery tickets across the country which is why they needed a document management system capable of handling a vast amount of data and statistics but which was also eminently accessible to those who needed to get at the data being stored.
Document Management - A Winning Combination
Camelot has a large number of business arms that needed to be centralised and a document management system was the ideal means by which to achieve this goal. On a day to day level, Camelot had numerous documents such as contracts and correspondence that needed to be filed and to keep these on paper was impractical, hence the introduction of a technologically efficient document management system to address their business needs. Speaking to Manufacturing Talk, Jo Sartori, who was in charge of the installation of the document management system at Camelot, states, "The new system enabled each of the users to have desktop access when retrieving documents; this in turn has improved the ease with which we have been able to respond to queries regarding documentation and correspondence."
Document Management - Environmental Option
The vast amounts of paper that circulate through offices day in, day out, are causing a large strain on the environment which is why many of the world's most forward thinking companies are beginning to make use of document management systems as they strive to do their part for the environment.
